Community-based initiatives working towards one of our three focus areas
Through community branch grants, Vancity branches sponsor initiatives in their surrounding neighbourhood and community. Funding is focused on partnerships in these areas:
Financial health & inclusion
Helps create safe and stable employment opportunities through education and entrepreneurship skills, and increases access to resources such as financial education, safe banking, and digital literacy.
Climate resilience & carbon reduction
Helps communities adapt to climate change impacts, increases climate literacy, promotes equitable participation in decision-making, and reduces exposure to climate-related shocks.
Reconciliation & racial equity
Helps equity-deserving groups (like Indigenous and other racialized groups) break down systemic barriers and build communities.
