Vancity announces Gurpreet Jhaj as VP of Marketing

Friday, April 1, 2022, Territories of Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations/Vancouver B.C. – Vancity today announced the addition of Gurpreet Jhaj to its senior leadership team as Vice President of Marketing. Reporting to the Chief External Relations Officer, Gurpreet will be responsible for leading the team that drives the brand, research and growth strategy that leverages the work Vancity does across all its lines of business.

Gurpreet will engage communities across British Columbia on Vancity’s product offerings and its core values of climate action, anti-racism and Reconciliation. Starting on May 2, Gurpreet brings over 15 years of global marketing and brand management to Vancity. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Marketing at BCAA where she was instrumental in growing business lines and launching the go to market strategies for a number of new businesses including Evo Car Share. Gurpreet has proven experience engaging customers and mobilizing communities around a brand, and has held various leadership roles with AIMIA (formerly Groupe Aeroplan) and Centrica across the UK and United States.

Gurpreet has degrees from De Montfort and Aston universities in the UK, as well as an Advanced Leadership qualification from UBC. She is an alumnus of the FIA University’s Emerging Leaders Program and is a committed volunteer with the GNFK.
