Supporting relief efforts in Fort McMurray

Vancity believes in helping to build healthy communities, especially in difficult times.

Catastrophic wildfires in Fort McMurray, Alberta have displaced more than 80,000 people, destroyed more than 1,600 buildings and ravaged at least 10,000 hectares of land. Vancity has donated $10,000 to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the evacuees.

Members who want to help are encouraged to make a financial donation to the Alberta Fires Appeal online at www.redcross.ca/albertafires, by calling 1.800.418.1111 or by contacting their local Canadian Red Cross office.

Also, Vancity Visa* cardholders can make a difference by donating as little as 2,000 points online at myvisarewardsplus.com or by calling Vancity Visa at 604.877.4999 or 1.800.611.8472. (Note: point donations can only be made to registered Canadian charities)
