Owning a roof is now a reality for More than a Roof™ Housing Society

With the goal of providing safe, affordable housing to those most vulnerable in our society, More than a Roof™ Housing Society has long sought to own its own property.

With some careful financial planning and mortgage financing from Vancity, the Society has now been able to fulfill this long-time goal, buying the property it had leased for the previous nine years. The newly purchased property, Hendicourt House, can now continue to provide a stable home to five individuals coping with mental illness. The property purchase will also grow equity for the Society, creating the potential for future expansion.
