Vancity announces Andrea Harris as VP of Impact Strategy


Wednesday, May 18, 2022, Territories of Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations/Vancouver B.C. – Vancity today announced the addition of Andrea Harris to its senior leadership team as Vice President of Impact Strategy. In this newly created role, Andrea will report to the Chief External Relations Officer and lead the coordination and oversight of the programs and strategies that advance Vancity's goals of creating a clean and fair world, focusing particularly on climate action, climate justice, community investment, financial resilience, and Indigenous banking, all through the lens of anti-racism and Reconciliation.

Through this role, Andrea will integrate and enable the work of Vancity’s Directors of Community Investment, and Climate Strategy and Performance, along with a new role that is being developed, Director of Indigenous Banking Strategy.

During her 18 years with Vancity, Andrea has held diverse leadership roles within the marketing, data and community investment departments. Most recently, Andrea was director of community investment for Vancity, a role in which she demonstrated a sophisticated understanding of how to ensure that strategies are created with input from many voices and have real and measurable impact for people and communities. Andrea’s career includes a secondment as Executive Director of the BC Co-op Association and as a faculty member at BCIT’s Sustainable Business Leadership program. Andrea is also the co-founder of Fairware, a local B Corp company specializing in sustainable promotional products.
