Weiler, Sharma and Parikh elected to Vancity’s Board of Directors

April 26, 2016, Coast Salish Territory/Vancouver, B.C. – Members of Vancity credit union have elected Virginia Weiler, Niki Sharma and Rita Parikh to their board of directors, each for a three-year term.

Virginia Weiler Virginia Weiler, a Vancity member for 21 years, has been re-elected for a fourth term on the board.
Niki Sharma Niki Sharma, a Vancity member for three years, has been elected for her first term on the board.
Rita Parikh Rita Parikh, a Vancity member for six years, has been elected for her first term on the board.
 

During the election, which took place from March 29 to April 22, a total of 17,916 valid ballots and 48,766 votes were cast.

Full results from Vancity’s 2016 Board of Directors’ election:

  • Virginia Weiler: 8,902 votes
  • Niki Sharma: 8,859 votes
  • Rita Parikh: 7,344 votes
  • Bob Williams: 6,543 votes
  • Dara Parker: 5,457 votes
  • Rachel S. Forbes: 2,147 votes
  • Neal Nicholson: 1,949 votes
  • Gary Steeves: 1,579 votes
  • Lucette Wesley: 1,495 votes
  • Farrell Segall: 1,441 votes
  • Yasin Amlani: 1,137 votes
  • Adrian Zator: 1,061 votes
  • Hari Sharma: 852 votes
