Vancity Moves Branch to Convenient Brentwood Area
Burnaby, May 24, 2001 - Vancity is moving its Burnaby Community Branch from Norland Avenue near Canada Way to new premises in the Brentwood area, effective May 29.
The new location at 106-1901 Rosser Street is conveniently located near major thoroughfares, shopping and transit. The central location will also offer the business community better access to the branch's Business Solutions Centre.
The branch will also offer expanded hours, as well as a new look. The new location will now be open on Mondays and one hour later on Saturdays.
According to Branch Manager Cherie Devisser, the branch has been designed with the community in mind. Its modern decor incorporates colour, photos and the community. Posters even feature branch members and photos of Burnaby landmarks.
"We believe that this branch belongs to our members and the community and we wanted this to be reflected in all aspects of the branch's design," Cherie says.
To celebrate the new location and its unique premises, Vancity will invite Burnaby residents to take advantage of a number of special offers, such as a personal loan at 8.75% with no payments for 90 days, a one-year term deposit with a 4.5% interest rate and, for businesses, a fixed asset loan at 1% below prime.
A grand opening celebration is planned for Saturday, June 23.
