Surrey Food Cart Festival - 2015

Vancity is excited to be the Presenting Sponsor of this year’s Surrey Food Cart Festival taking place on Saturday, July 25th from 11 am – 5 pm at the City of Surrey Plaza. Vancity Members with proof of membership, will receive free entry and line bypass into the festival (a savings of $2 per person).

At Vancity, we value local entrepreneurs that contribute to building a sustainable local and organic food sector. This July, you will be able to celebrate Surrey’s cultural diversity and talented chefs with some of the top food carts. Come down to join in the festivities.

The Surrey Food Cart Festival is organized by the Fraser Valley Food Truck Association (FVFTA). The FVFTA is an organization Vancity is proud to have helped convene. Vancity has supported other food cart festivals in the Fraser Valley and through working with the event organizer, we saw an opportunity to encourage collaboration amongst the vendors

Zero Waste Event

Vancity’s is excited that the Surrey Food Cart Festival will be working towards being a Zero Waste Event. Last year, Vancity’s successful partnership with Recycling Alternative and Green Chair Recycling helped the Vancouver Food Cart Fest divert 93% of the waste generated at the event from local landfills. Green Chair Recycling will be onsite with their recycling ambassadors sorting and educating attendees on recycling best practices. Since 2007 Vancity has been carbon neutral and we are excited to support local events to help reduce their waste.
