This series connects values-based BC packaged food entrepreneurs with business sector leaders for advice and support in building brand, scaling manufacturing and distribution, and accessing financing. The series' format includes interactive curriculum, tips and take-away worksheets, inspiring stories, networking and celebration over local food and craft beer.

Families Dealing with Mental Illness Courses

Date: Wednesday, September 20 - Wednesday, December 6

Time : 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm

Location: North Shore, Tri Cities, Vancouver

Cost to attend : None

An intensive 12-session course with topics including: symptoms of the illnesses (bipolar, schizophrenia, clinical depression, anxiety), medications and communication, problem solving, advice on working with the system, and looking after yourself as a caregiver.

The course is taught by trained family members who themselves have ill relatives and many years’ experience dealing with system. It will be of particular interest to families whose relatives have recently been diagnosed.

Missing is the latest commission by City Opera Vancouver. Set in Vancouver and along the Highway of Tears, this music drama is being created to give voice to the story of Canada’s missing and murdered aboriginal women and girls, and to show that each and every one of these missing people is honored.

The libretto is by the distinguished First Nations playwright Marie Clements and the composer is Juno-award winner Brian Current.

Souvenir is a four-film series addressing Aboriginal identity and representation by reworking material in the NFB’s archives. In addition to the more than 700 films with Aboriginal themes dating back to 1939, these archives include thousands of hours of outtakes.
