Ranking on the Diversity Index is an element of the governance indicator as part of the methodology for a company's consideration for the Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada.

For: Vancity has been named in the BCBusiness Top 100 List of BC's biggest companies. The list is published annually and is ranked based on revenue. Vancity ranked fourth in the financial services sector behind HSBC Bank Canada, Industrial Alliance Pacific and Canaccord (down from third place in 2010). In the overall list, we ranked 66th, up from 70th place last year.

For: Credit Union Central of Canada presented the 2011 National Credit Union Awards for outstanding achievement in community economic development, innovation, leadership by young credit union professionals and lifetime contribution to the credit union system. Vancity was awarded the National Credit Union Community Economic Development Award for the financial literacy project, Each One, Teach One. This award recognizes and honours outstanding contributions by credit unions to the economic development of the communities they serve. The judges looked for an enterprise which demonstrated in policy and practice the highest standards of stewardship towards the long-term well-being of customers, employees, owners, business partners, the environment and the broader community.
