Meet Wendy Murphy.

Chief Technology and Administration Officer.

Wendy leads the Vancity Group’s information and technology division leading a large team responsible for executing a full suite of digital services and products, overseeing data, engineering, and AI, as well as managing risk and cyber security. Wendy also leads the banking operations team at Vancity.

Wendy plays a key role driving digitization and modernization across Vancity’s core technology and enhancing the digital banking services for Vancity’s 560,000 members.

Wendy has an extensive background in leadership roles within large banks and insurance firms, including positions as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer at Concentra. She has also held senior executive roles at TD Bank Group, ING Canada, IFDS Canada, and the Royal Bank of Canada.

Wendy has contributed her expertise to launching a fully digital banking platform for a Schedule I Canadian bank and building a high-performing technology team at a Fintech financial services company. Additionally, she is dedicated to promoting women in technology and leadership, having held various voluntary and board roles, including an executive advisor board position for a bio-tech start-up company.

Her outside-of-work interests include extensive travel (once a super contributor to Trip Advisor), exploring other cultures, sailing, reading and her family – a partner, two-kids and their dog, Hobbes.
