Meet Wellington Holbrook.

President & CEO.

Wellington Holbrook is the President and CEO of Vancity, Canada’s largest community credit union. Since joining Vancity, Wellington has guided the organization through a period of transformation, strengthening the organization’s member-focused approach and commitment to support more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable communities.

With more than 30 years of experience in Canada’s financial services industry, Wellington has focused his career on cooperatives and banking institutions with missions that extend beyond profit. Before joining Vancity, Wellington held senior leadership roles at connectFirst Credit Union, ATB Financial, and the Business Development Bank of Canada. His experience includes leading complex mergers and integrations, overseeing retail, business and agriculture banking operations, and driving large-scale digital and organizational transformation initiatives.

Wellington is driven by the belief that banking can be a powerful force for positive change. His ambition is to help build a financial institution that can stand alongside the world’s leading banks while proving that values-based banking is not only possible, but a better way to do business.

Wellington holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba and an MBA with distinction from the University of Oxford. Fluent in both English and French, he currently serves as Vice Chair of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) and as a Board Director of Central 1. Outside of work, he is an avid music fan and amateur musician. He and his wife have two adult children.
