Newsha Siouffi is a dynamic force at Vancity, driving industry-leading, member-centered change with her unique blend of strategic vision and tactical expertise.
As Chief Strategy Officer, Newsha oversees a wide breadth of teams focused on advancing Vancity’s medium-to-long-term strategy. This includes Enterprise Strategy, responsible for the development of Vancity’s long-term strategy and business plan, Values-Based Innovation, where she oversees the development and delivery of Vancity’s innovation agenda, Mergers and Acquisitions, Economics, Impact Strategy, Government and Stakeholder Relations, and Governance which provides dedicated support to both the Vancity and Vancity Community Investment Bank Boards. She also leads the office of the CEO, collaborating closely with the CEO to shape the credit union’s long-term strategic direction and advance corporate development.
As a newcomer to Canada, Newsha grew up navigating the dual realities of opportunity and systemic barriers. Determined to make a difference, she dedicated her career to creating change, a path that led her to Vancity.
With nearly 20 years of experience at Vancity in various roles of increasing responsibility and scope, Newsha has a reputation for delivering results and making an impact. Examples include organizing Vancouver’s largest international summit for the Global Alliance for Banking on Values and achieving global recognition for Vancity’s Fast & Fair loan product, which was designed to displace payday lending.
A passionate advocate for mental health, Newsha served on the board of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Vancouver Fraser Branch. As a lifelong learner, she holds a Master of Business Administration from UBC’s Sauder School of Business, a Masters Certificate in Project Management from the Schulich School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Simon Fraser University. Outside of work, Newsha enjoys spending time by the water and exploring the north shore community with her family.
