Newsha Siouffi is a dynamic force at Vancity, driving industry-leading, member-centered change with her unique blend of strategic vision and tactical expertise. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, Newsha influences decision-making with an enterprise-wide perspective.
Newsha's journey began as a newcomer to Canada. Growing up she witnessed both the incredible potential around her and the systemic challenges of racism, sexism and discrimination. Determined to make a difference, she dedicated her career to creating change, which led her to Vancity.
With nearly 20 years of experience at Vancity in various roles of increasing responsibility and scope, Newsha has a reputation for delivering results and making an impact. Examples include organizing Vancouver’s largest international summit for the Global Alliance for Banking on Values and achieving global recognition for Vancity’s Fast & Fair loan product, which was designed to displace payday lending.
In her role as Vice President, Strategy, Innovation, and CEO Office, Newsha guides Vancity’s strategic direction and supports effective strategy implementation. Collaborating closely with the CEO, she leads the development of the credit union’s enterprise strategy, advances corporate development, and sets Vancity’s innovation agenda. She also serves as a bridge between Vancity’s Board of Directors, Vancity Community Investment Bank's Board and the management teams.
A passionate advocate for mental health, Newsha served on the board of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Vancouver Fraser Branch. As a lifelong learner, she holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from UBC’s Sauder School of Business, a Masters Certificate in Project Management from the Schulich School of Business, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University. Outside of work, Newsha enjoys spending time by the water and exploring the north shore community with her family.
