Wellness for women sex workers begins with WISH

WISH has been supporting Downtown Eastside sex workers for over 28 years. It has a wellness centre where women can go when they need a safe and supportive environment.

In 2003, Vancity members voted for WISH to receive a $1 million award, helping WISH to create a purpose-built facility. Vancity has also helped through short-term financial planning and by administering the argaret Mitchell Fund.

This stability has fostered expansion into new programs and helped WISH achieve an elevated status. In 2012, WISH was selected as a Charity Intelligence Top Pick.
