Baaz Singh Jassal, Kalgidhar Darbar Shib Society general secretary, mortgaged his home and organized loans from 250 congregation members to build Gurdwara Sahib Kalgidhar Darbar in Abbotsford BC. Previously the area had just one Sikh temple to serve 10,000 people.
Gurdwara Sahib Kalgidhar Darbar is one of the world’s largest Sikh temples. Vancity provided the society a loan to repay the congregation for its donation toward the temple’s construction.
