During the promotion period, you can earn the bonus interest rate on net new growth of up to $1,000,000 CAD to your RRSP HISA under the “relationship number(s)” quoted in the promotional email you received. Not sure what a relationship number is? Refer to question 8 for more details.

Foreign currency accounts, Personal Holding Company Accounts, Trust Accounts, or accounts held by entities other than an individual (such as Commercial Banking accounts, Small Business Banking accounts, accounts held in the name of a corporation (including personal holding accounts), trust accounts or any other account used for a commercial purpose) are not eligible for this offer.
 

Net new growth means growth in your RRSP Jumpstart HISA, less any withdrawals made across your other accounts as compared to your starting balance as of Monday, January 19, 2026 (snapshot date). This means that if your total account balances stay above their balances as of your snapshot date, you’ll earn 4.90% (subject to fluctuations in the regular posted interest rate) on the portion you’ve put aside in your RRSP HISA.

We’ll calculate the total balance* of all your accounts daily (as per the specific Vancity relationships quoted in the promotional email you received), starting from the close of business on Monday, January 19, 2026 (snapshot date) until the end of the promotion on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

The amount we calculated on Monday, January 19, 2026 (snapshot date) will be considered your starting balance for the promotion once you activate the email offer. You’ll then earn 4.20% bonus interest in addition to regular interest at 0.70% on net new growth in your RRSP HISA, less any withdrawals made from it and your other accounts. I.e., bonus interest is only paid on the net balance increase to your RRSP HISA. To be eligible for bonus interest you must ensure any new growth to your RRSP HISA is higher than any withdrawals you make across your other accounts during the promotion period.

For example:

• Here’s an example of the total balances across a Vancity member’s accounts as of Monday, January 19, 2026, their snapshot date.

$6,000 in RRSP HISA + $4,000 in chequing = $10,000

• Member activates the RRSP HISA promotion offer on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
• Member deposits $2,500 in new money to RRSP HISA on Monday, January 26, 2026, and withdraws $1,000 from chequing on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

$2,500 deposit - $1,000 withdrawal = $1,500 net deposit growth

Bonus interest of 4.20% plus the regular posted interest rate of 0.70% totaling 4.90% is earned on the net deposit growth of $1,500.

Interest is calculated on closing daily balance in an account and paid at month-end. The interest is an annual interest rate. The bonus interest rate will be earned on net new growth in your RRSP HISA, in addition to regular interest that is paid on deposits in the RRSP HISA. The 4.90% rate is a combination of bonus interest and regular interest, and its combined total will be the total interest payable during the promotion period. Bonus interest is calculated daily on the daily closing balance of eligible net new growth and is paid monthly. Bonus interest will be shown as a separate transaction from your regular interest payment on your monthly statement. Regular interest will be paid at month-end and bonus interest will be paid on the first day of the following month.

To activate the offer, you must click on ‘Activate offer’ in the email we sent you. Once you do, you’ll receive an email confirming that the offer is activated. If you don’t receive a confirmation email. The offer isn’t activated. Note: remember to check your spam or promotions folder for the confirmation email. Please contact us if you’re not able to find your confirmation email.

If you have multiple RRSP HISAs under the same primary member (i.e., the first-named account holder):

• Bonus interest will be earned on net new growth in each RRSP HISA but will be added together and paid to the RRSP HISA with the lowest account number (i.e., oldest account).
• Bonus interest will be earned on eligible deposits of up to a combined $1,000,000 CAD across all your RRSP HISAs.

This is an exclusive offer and only the recipient of the email is eligible for the bonus interest promotion on their RRSP HISA. Please don’t share or forward the email to anyone as they won’t be eligible.

We group your banking product accounts under a relationship number to give you a consolidated view of your banking relationships. This relationship number could be seven to eight digits long, and it houses your accounts. You may have more than one relationship number. For example, one relationship number could hold your chequing and savings accounts, and another could contain your registered accounts such as RRSPs or TFSAs.

You can find relationship numbers on your statement, in your online account, on mobile, or via telephone banking. This HISA promotion is only available to a certain group of members’ relationship numbers and only members who received the original RRSP HISA promotion email will be eligible for the bonus interest

If one of your accounts in the relationship numbers quoted in the promotion email is a joint account, its balances will be included only if you’re the ‘primary member’ of that account. ‘Primary member’ is the first-named account holder in a Vancity relationship. All deposit products within the same relationship, including those jointly held, under which a member is identified as the primary member will be considered in the calculation of that member’s net new growth.
