Bill has served on Vancity’s Board of Directors since 2018 and currently chairs the Governance Committee, having previously served as Chair of the Audit Committee. He brings extensive executive leadership experience with a strong track record of integrating financial sustainability, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. Bill has also been an engaged Vancity member for over 40 years.
Bill has more than 25 years of executive management experience with Encorp Pacific and Return-It depots across British Columbia, where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Throughout his career, he has focused on building successful, purpose-driven programs that balance financial performance with environmental and social impact.
He previously served on the Board of the Provincial Health Services Authority and currently sits on the Board of Vancouver Coastal Health, which delivers health care services through hospitals, clinics, and community health programs.
Bill also volunteers his time with the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia Board and Metro Vancouver’s Public/Technical Advisory Committee on recycling.
His formal education includes a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, an MBA from Asia Pacific University, and the Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D).
Bill grew up in Vancouver’s diverse, working-class east end, where he later raised his family. His two adult sons, both graduates in environmental sciences, share his commitment to community involvement, environmental sustainability, and social justice.
Bill approaches his role as a director at Vancity with a focus on community impact, environmental sustainability, and long-term financial strength for its members.
