Vancity board election and annual general meeting rescheduled

Monday, April 06, 2020, Unceded territories of Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations/Vancouver B.C. — Vancity today announced that its 2020 Board of Directors’ election and Annual General Meeting are being postponed. The postponements have been made to accommodate an additional vacancy that has arisen on the board.

To ensure that Vancity members have ample time to receive the announcement and are adequately prepared to vote for an additional candidate, the 2020 Board of Directors’ election will now take place from Monday, May 11 to Friday, May 29, 2020. Vancity members will be asked to vote for up to four candidates. The candidates who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd will each be elected for three-year terms. The candidate who places 4th will be elected for a one-year period, serving the final year of Teresa Conway’s three-year term. Citing personal reasons, Conway will resign from the board, effective May 1, 2020.

Vancity is holding a virtual Annual General Meeting this year. It will be conducted online through vancity.com on Monday, June 15, 2020.

All eligible Vancity members will receive information about the election by mail. They can also visit www.vancity.com/election for detailed information about the candidates and the election process. Results of the election will be announced prior to Vancity’s Annual General Meeting.
