Award: Canada's Top Employers 2018
Who: Vancity
From: Canada's Top 100 Employers
For: Vancity was named one of Canada's Top 100 Employers for the eleventh time since the competition started in 2001. Some of the reasons Vancity was chosen for 2018 include being a Living Wage employer, supporting employees with young families through generous maternity and parental leave top-up payments, and offering professional development support. For: This award honours a business that demonstrates leadership with their environmental and sustainable business practices.

Award: Best of Vancouver 2017 — Readers’ Choice
Who: Vancity
From: The Georgia Straight
For: Vancity received five wins in the Georgia Straight's annual Best of Vancouver Readers' Choice awards. Vancity was chosen as the Best local employer, Most environmentally responsible local company and Hippest bank or credit union, as well as ranked third for Best place to get a mortgage and Best place to buy RRSPs.

Award: Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada 2017
Who: Vancity
From: Corporate Knights
For: Vancity ranked number one on the Corporate Knights list of the Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada for the second year in a row. Organizations are measured on a suite of 12 sustainability metrics, including carbon intensity, CEO-to-average worker pay link, employee turnover and leadership diversity. Award: National Credit Union Community Economic Development Award
Who: Vancity
From: Canadian Credit Union Association
For: Vancity received this award for its Refugee Settlement Assistance Program developed in close partnership with Immigrant Services Society of BC and other settlement service groups. Together, they created a scalable and sharable program comprising outreach activities, product developments, process enhancements, educational reports and tools. Award: National Credit Union Learning Leader Award

From: Canadian Credit Union Association
For: Vancity won the first-ever Learning Leader Award for the strategic development, instructional design, delivery, and evaluation of training for over 2,000 employees for the recent renewal of their core banking system. Watch this video explaining why Vancity received the award.

Who: Bob Elton
From: Association of Women in Finance
For: Vancity Executive-in-Residence Bob Elton was honoured by the Association of Women in Finance with the PEAK Champion Award. This award honours an individual who furthers the advancement of women in finance for leadership positions in management or on boards; has sponsored women in finance, putting their reputation on the line to advocate for change and the advancement of women; and is actively involved in their community.

For: Vancity was the "runaway" Gold winner in the Best Local Bank/Credit Union category and took Silver for Best Company to Work For. Read more in this profile.

Award: Canada's Best Employers 2017
Who: Vancity
From: Forbes
For: Vancity placed 39th on Forbes magazine's list of Canada's best employers. Working with online statistics provider Statista, Forbes asked more than 8,000 Canadian workers to determine, on a scale of zero to 10, how likely they were to recommend their employer to someone else.

Award: Highest Customer Service – Banking Industry

From: Service Quality Measurement (SQM)
For: For the second year in a row, Vancity’s Member Services Centre has received a Highest Customer Service – Banking Industry award from Service Quality Measurement (SQM), a leading North American customer experience research firm. The award is based on the results of post-call member surveys SQM conducted in 2016 and represents the highest first-call resolution across the entire banking sector.
