Co-operatives co-operate to improve family housing

Putting people first is a core value of a co-operative enterprise. When the Klahanie Housing Association came to Vancity for a loan to improve the living conditions of its members, Vancity was happy to help with a nearly $2-million renovation loan. With 70 townhouses in need of maintenance, the loan went toward fixing leaks, removing mould and creating a safer environment for Klahanie tenants.

This project directly supports a local community and the people who live there. And to Vancity, that's money well spent.
