Reading your enhanced enviro Visa statement

Beginning June 3, 2013, you can expect to see enhancements on the enviro Visa statement. These enhancements are part of our ongoing commitment to give you the right information about your enviro Visa at the right time so you can be more confident with your purchasing and payment decisions.

1. Q: Why did Vancity make these statement enhancements?

A: Members like you told us that additional information about your balance and repayment options would help you make better decisions about your card use. We’re committed to providing you with the right information about your enviro Visa at the right time so that you can be more confident about your purchase and payment decisions.

2. Q: What do you mean by year to date interest and fees?

A: The year to date interest and fees box shows the total interest and fees paid in this calendar year (January to present). The amount will reset to $0.00 every January 1.

3. Q: What fees are included in the “total fees charged” line of the year-to-date interest and fees line?

A: The fees included in this line include any annual fees, cash advance fees, overlimit fees, statement copy fees, insurance premium fees, returned cheque fees, draft copy fees and credit balance refund fees. These fees are all outlined in our Cardholder Agreement.

4. Q: How I can reduce the amount of money I pay in interest?

A: The only way to avoid interest is to pay off your balance on time, in full, every month. If you can’t pay off your balance in full, pay off as much as you can. You’d be surprised at how much money adding just $10 to your minimum payment can save you over time. Example: Let’s say you have a balance of $1,023.83
