As a Senior Vice President of Business Transformation, Petra Kuret is driving innovation across the enterprise to ensure Vancity continues to deliver the greatest impact – for our employees, our members, our communities, and our business. Petra brings passion and energy to deliver strategic planning, innovation, operational excellence and change management in pursuit of transformation.

Petra joined the Executive Leadership Team in late 2018 with over 25 years of strategic management experience in consulting services largely focusing on helping organizations elevate the performance of their businesses, and in turn, the experience of their employees. Prior to joining Vancity, she was most recently the managing director for British Columbia at Accenture where she developed a highly engaged 1,000+ person workforce by executing market-expansion strategies that led to significant financial growth, as well as career growth for employees. She has been recognized for various achievements for her work with Accenture, from Mentor of the Year in Canada, to Inspiring Project and Inspiring Leader awards which are a testament to her success. She was also named one of the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada in 2016 and 2017.

Her early career began in the political arena, participating in our parliamentary democracy. Petra held various roles as a Parliamentary Page on the floor of the House of Commons, Constituency Assistant to an MP and Constitutional Committee Clerk to a Senator. She capped this off with her role as a Constituency Lead and Campaign Coordinator in the House of Commons in the United Kingdom.

Petra continues to dedicate countless hours to organizations such as BC Women’s Hospital and We.org. She also serves as the Board Chair for the German Canadian Care Home overseeing the building and delivery of a new innovative care model for seniors. In the past, she has had leadership roles with GO Networking, Minerva and BC Children’s Hospital as well as at her children’s school.

Born and raised in Vancouver, Petra and her husband John live in Vancouver with her two children, Gabriel and Annika. She enjoys antiquing, cooking, traveling and exploring the outdoors. She is trilingual.
