Sending wire transfers
As a Vancity member, you can transfer funds quickly and securely to just about anyone, anywhere.
Whether you need to send money within Canada or internationally, in Canadian funds or another currency, you can arrange wire transfers at any Vancity branch. Generally, you can expect the funds to arrive within three to five business days.
Additional fees may apply if an intermediary financial institution is required to relay the transfer to its final destination. You can minimize any currency exchange costs by sending the funds in the currency of the recipient's financial institution.
You can set up a wire transfer at any branch. Before you come into the branch, make sure you have all the information you'll need to complete the transfer. Use the following forms to help you obtain the information required:

Please ensure that the recipient financial institution is able to receive funds in the currency you wish to send. Wire fees are $35 if the funds are going outside of Canada and $20 if sent as Canadian dollars within Canada.
Receiving wire transfers
If you wish to receive a wire transfer, you will need to provide your wiring instructions. What currency is the wire going to be sent in?

If you're mailing or faxing revised “Wire Payment Instructions” to your Sender(s), we recommend you enclose the following cover letter.
Please note incomplete wire instructions may result in funds being returned to the sending financial institution. The sending institution and intermediary financial institution may deduct service charges prior to the wire arriving at Vancity. We have no control over the imposition of these fees and are not advised of these fees in advance of the funds being sent. Vancity charges a $10 service fee for processing incoming wire transfers in Canadian Dollars and all foreign currency (except US dollars which is charged a $10 USD fee).
