A message from Tamara Vrooman, President and CEO

Dear Members,

Like everyone, we’re following the Coronavirus developments very closely. We continue to monitor the latest advice from our provincial and federal health agencies, and want you to know that we have plans in place to ensure members continue to get the services they need.

Our number one priority is the health and wellbeing of our members and employees.

While the risk of contracting the illness remains low, we recognize that our members may have some questions about how we’re responding to this evolving situation.

If you are not feeling well, or think you may have symptoms of illness, we ask you to contact us by phone instead of coming into the branch.

Our goal is to keep all Vancity branches open and available to serve our members. However, there are other ways we can serve you. Our call centre, VISA cardholder care and online care team are all open as normal. Other services are also fully available, including wealth advice, small business support and foreign exchange.

At our branches and offices, we’ve implemented some precautionary health and safety actions. These include:

  • Carrying out the highest available service standard of sanitization in our branches and offices.
  • We are increasing the daily frequency of our ATM and branch cleaning, including the disinfection of high-touch surfaces such as countertops, door handles, handrails and keypads.
  • Requiring employees to stay home if they are sick or have any symptoms.

We encourage our members to take advantage of our online, mobile and telephone banking services.

Thanks for your patience as we make changes to provide you with the best possible service during this evolving situation.

If you have any questions, we're always here for you and you can reach us by calling our Member Services Centre at:

  • Metro Vancouver 604-877-7000
  • Greater Victoria 250-519-7000
  • Toll-free 1-888-Vancity (1-888-826-2489)

We will continue to provide updates as things change.
