Two Squamish organizations join forces to serve the community

About this story

Sea to Sky Community Services Society (SSCSS, established in 1978) is one of the largest, most impactful charities in the Sea to Sky Corridor. Founded in response to a need to provide social services at a local level, it now reaches 4,000 people a year in a community of 30,000 through 40 programs for children, young people, adults and families.

To reduce operating costs SSCSS is pooling its resources with the Squamish United Church to build a facility called Centrepoint in downtown Squamish. SSCSS and the Church expect to break ground on this project in June 2013. It will be used by both organizations for their community programs.

Vancity has a longstanding relationship with SSCSS and has contributed financing and a grant toward consulting fees.
