Jay-Ann Gilfoy

Senior Vice President, Digital Solutions & Business Technology

As the Senior Vice President of Digital Solutions & Business Technology, Jay-Ann Gilfoy is responsible for moving our differentiated member experience into the digital space in a way that facilitates member-led innovation. Her role includes oversight of digital literacy, core technology infrastructure, technology solutions, digital products and fin-tech partnerships.

Jay-Ann joined Vancity in 2014 to lead the development and implementation of a new core banking system, the first milestone in Vancity's technology road map and a foundational element in the organization's transformation to serve members better. She was drawn to Vancity's innovative, member-based model that is focused on keeping communities strong.

Jay-Ann is passionate about finding ways to bring our values based business model to life in a digital way, developing people and fostering a work environment that encourages employees to learn, grow and excel. Her philosophy underpins the core value employees bring in creating a differentiated experience for our members.

Jay-Ann draws on a wealth of transformation and change management expertise from previous roles in Crown, private and municipal organizations. Before joining Vancity, she was the Chief Transformation Officer at Coast Capital Savings, where she successfully led the implementation of a new core banking system, created an innovative human resources plan that significantly increased employee engagement results, and redesigned the executive suite for improved governance.

Before that Jay-Ann had executive level positions in human resources as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Coast Capital Savings and Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development for the BC Lottery Corporation.

Jay-Ann has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from McMaster University and a professional designation in Human Resource Management.

Born in New Brunswick and raised in Toronto, she found paradise when she moved to BC in 1990. The mother of two teenagers, Liam and Alexa, Jay-Ann is passionate about nurturing healthy and well-balanced children. She believes a healthy body and mind are the foundations for success and is very active in running, weight training, yoga, skiing and golf.
