Teresa Conway

Teresa Conway

It was Vancity's excellent membership service and the fact that it was conscious of the social and environmental well-being of communities that drew Teresa to become a member of Vancity more than 20 years ago. Teresa's community-mindedness and a shared values and vision, combined with a strong sense of responsibility as a member-owner, led her to offer her skills as a Vancity board director.

Along with her chartered accountant designation, Teresa has more than 20 years of leadership experience with mission-driven, innovative and entrepreneurial organizations. She brings a strong financial background and knowledge base in strategy, finance and risk management to the credit union to help ensure the continued financial success of Vancity supports the well-being of members, staff and the community.

Elected in 2012, Teresa is serving her second term on Vancity's board. She has previous experience at a BC corporation, chairing a risk management committee responsible for overseeing market, credit and operational risk, and has held board positions for member-based industry organizations. Teresa holds an ICD.D professional designation from the Institution of Corporate Directors. An avid supporter of local arts and culture, she has been a board member, patron and volunteer for local not-for-profit theatre and dance companies.

Teresa was awarded the AWF Leader in Finance Designation by the Association of Women in Finance in 2004. As a supporter and mentor for women in business, she is also a member of organizations such as International Women's Forum, Association of Women in Finance and Vancouver Board of Trade.

Currently a member at the Point Grey community branch, Teresa has had mortgages, lines of credit, investments and basic banking services with Vancity over the years.
